Peter Lifland, bass, has sung with several high-caliber choirs over the past decade, including the Tudor Choir, the Byrd Ensemble, Seattle Pro Musica, and the Harvard Glee Club. After a four year stay in New Haven singing for various Yale activities, Peter recently moved to Los Angeles where he lives in South Pasadena with his wife and their two daughters.
In New Haven, Peter sang for the Yale conducting master courses and was men's section leader for the Yale Camerata and Trinity on the Green. In Seattle, Peter sang for a number of professional chamber choirs, including the Tudor Choir, the Byrd Ensemble, Solaris (UW), and Vox16. He also sang with Seattle Pro Musica from 2010 to 2018 and served as its bass section leader starting in 2017.
Throughout his singing career Peter has been blessed to work with world-class conductors, including Anne Tomlinson, Jameson Marvin, Karen P. Thomas, Giselle Wyers, Maggie Brooks, and Noah Horn.
Last and certainly least, amusing highlights of Peter's singing career include winning a Grammy for "Best New Age Album" in 2015 when he sang bass vocals for a single track and singing in the backing choirs for the traveling tours of Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli in Seattle.
When he is not singing Peter is probably parenting as the stay-at-home dad of two preschool-age daughters, hanging out with his wife Brooke, or dreaming of actually playing a game from his board game collection.
